The Fred Meisel, MD, Fellowship Program
For the Advancement of The Child Psychoanalytic Program

We are profoundly grateful for the generosity and vision that gave rise to The Fred Meisel, MD Fellowship at BPSI. This fellowship honors the legacy of Dr. Fred Meisel, a revered child analyst, devoted BPSI member, and beloved mentor.

The Fred Meisel, MD Fellowship supports BPSI Child Analytic Graduates who are committed to becoming Child Analytic Supervisors. Thanks to an inaugural gift from anonymous donors inspired by Fred’s life and work, the Fellowship’s first year supported eight participants. This investment significantly expanded the supervisory capacity of BPSI’s Child Analytic Program and strengthened its future.

As one 2024–2025 participant shared:

“This funding has supported me in seeking regular consultation and mentorship on child supervision from one of Dr. Meisel’s longtime colleagues. Our meetings have both offered new insights into the supervision process and affirmed the knowledge and skills I already possess.”

At this time, the Fellowship is not currently accepting applications. If you would like to be notified about future application opportunities, please email Carole Nathan, Managing Director, at cnathan@bpsi.org.

If you would like to contribute to the BPSI Child Psychoanalytic Program in Fred’s memory, you can make an online donation or send a check to BPSI. If you’re interested in supporting the program with non-cash assets, please contact Carole Nathan at 617-266-0953, extension 101.

Your gift will help ensure the continued vitality and sustainability of the Child Psychoanalytic Program at BPSI, honoring Fred’s enduring legacy.
